A fun new project I did in the living room of Esther, Amsterdam. She told me keeping plants vivid an alive was a challenge so she requested a lush green plant on her wall! I had so much fun painting this with acrylic paint. It took me about a day and will last a life time :) (and needs no water or new soil…)
WILDERNIS WINDOW ART
My favorite little plant store asked me to make a piece of window art on their shop front and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more! It was so much fun drawing all the animals (can you find them all?) and all the different plants. I free handed the whole piece and kinda like the quirkiness of the tiger and the leafs. I used water proof chalk marker so it will stay on for quite a bit of time!
OBA WINDOW ART
For two separate events in Amsterdam: Kinderboekenweek (Kids Book Week) and the Uitmarkt (Cultural Event) I designed the windows of the Central Library in Amsterdam. Both events needed the scheduled program to be displayed and with the one for Kinderboekenweek I had a lot of fun drawing little animals next to it. I used waterproof paint for the Uitmarkt one (on the outside) and chalk marker for the Kinderboekenweek one (inside). Both took me about a day and a half.
BAR JONES MURAL
A super fun new project found me in September 2017. I got to make a big mural on the walls of Bar Jones in Amsterdam. This warm and inviting cafe in the centre, with beautiful 70’s furniture, gave me complete freedom in painting on the wall in the hallway; grabbing the attention of passer-byers.
I decided to keep the design calm, using only petrol blue and white, focussing on details and slick handlettering. Besides the text reading “over 30 varieties in Amsterdam bottled beer” I depicted a cheese platter, some beer bottles and a few pieces of the furniture as seen in the cafe.
Painting this mural took me 1,5 days; I used acrylic paint and a waterbased varnish. Are you interested in getting a mural done in your business or home? Inquire for prizes and possibilities at firstname.lastname@example.org
