What a fun underwater world! I made this illustration as part of a pitch for a children’s book publisher in search of a new illustrator for their books (they requested the pitched illustrations to be ‘adventurous’). I made the drawing in ink on paper first and continued on Photoshop after scanning it. I quite like the use of dry media brushed in Photoshop, it gives a more textured look.
BLOOT MAGAZINE #4
This was my second commission from magazine BLOOT! by the NFN in Holland. For this edition of the nudist’ magazine they asked me to make some illustrations for an article on hair removal and a couple’s drawing for a personal story. These commissions are always a lot of fun because I can simplify my style and draw cheeky little naked people :)
I made the illustrations by drawing a black outline on paper first and digitaly coloring them in with Photoshop.
BABY CARD FOR JAAP
I had made this family portrait for Floor & Joris beforehand and later used the illustration to design the birth announcement card for their new son: Jaap. It was a lot of fun drawing them and then using confetti and the same colors on the back of the card, bringing the whole design together. I also love the rounded edges on the card!
WILDERNIS WINDOW ART
My favorite little plant store asked me to make a piece of window art on their shop front and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more! It was so much fun drawing all the animals (can you find them all?) and all the different plants. I free handed the whole piece and kinda like the quirkiness of the tiger and the leafs. I used water proof chalk marker so it will stay on for quite a bit of time!
